MILKY – A1048721
Safe 9-12-2015 Manhattan
**SAFE 09/12/15** “Plays too rough with a 20-month-old kiddo when the kiddo plays too rough with the kitten,” is basically why MILKY was brought to the ACC. His former owner has said that MILKY scratched, but also said that he doesn’t, so the discerning viewer will be thinking “liar, liar, pants on fire.” MILKY is only a baby himself and is just trying to figure out what people expect from him. The ACC expects him to be one more kitten they send to the landfill, which is why a foster or adopter is needed for this EXPNOCHILD-rated youngster, tonight!

08/21/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
8/21/15 15:56 Basic information: Milky is a 5 month old male domestic short hair mix. The owner surrendered Milky because he is too active for her 20 month old child. Milky has no health problems and the owner has taken him to a vet 2 months ago. Socialization: The owner states that around strangers Milky is friendly and outgoing. Milky has been around children but plays very rough with them and does scratch when the children play to rough with him. Milky has never been around dogs or other animals so the owner has no idea how Milky would react around them. Milky has not bitten or scratched anyone but has swiped at the owners child when the child played to rough. Behavior: Milky does not like to be bathed, has never had his nails trimmed. He does not mind having his coat brushed, being picked up and allows being placed in a cat carrier. For a new family to know: The owner describes Milky as friendly and playful cat with a high activity level. Milky has played with balls and string cat toys; he lives mostly indoors and sleeps anywhere in the house that he wants. In the home Milky will follow the owner around and prefers to stay in same room as the owner. Milky eats Purina brand wet and dry cat food and is feed three times a day. He is litter box trained and uses an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Milky has never been given a scratching post so the owner does not know if he will use it or not. Behavior during intake: During intake Milky was clam with soft body, he allowed us to scan (-) put on collar, photographed and placed in cat kennel.

09/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Milky continues to offer occasional play bites and swats in adoptions. 8/25 eval: The former owner states that around strangers Milky is friendly and outgoing. Milky has been around children, but plays very rough with them and does swat when the children play to rough with him. Also, describes him as friendly and playful cat with a high activity level. Reaction to assessor: Milky looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Milky remains lying down on his cage bedding, soft and relaxed, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Milky accepts the stroke, but began to play with his paws and gentle nip at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Milky solicits attention and tolerates petting but may play roughly. Due to play swats and love nips we feel that this cat will do best in a home without children.
