I am a neutered male brn tabby and white domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 7 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 09/30/2015 from NY 10452, owner surrender reason stated was OWNER SICK.

09/30/2015 11:14 BASIC INFO Mikey A1053253 is a 7 year old domestic shorthair cat. He was purchased at a pet store. The main reason for surrender is that the Owner did not have enough space, and a senior parent who is afraid of the cat is moving in. Mikey does not have any injuries or health concerns. SOCIALIZATION Mikey is shy around strangers. He has lived with children and was respectful and tolerant of them. He does not play with adults or children, but does love to play with a ball. Mikey has never lived with another animal. Mikey has never bitten or scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR Mikey was quiet during the car ride. He does not have any litterbox problems. He grooms himself. Mikey did struggle to be placed in a carrier. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Mikey is friendly and affectionate and very independent. He has a medium activity level. He loves to sleep during the day. When home, Mikey follows you around. he likes to play with a ball. He has been kept mostly indoors. The cat sleeps on a kitty bed. Mikey eats Meow Mix dry food. he is litter boxed trained and uses a hooded litter box, with fresh step litter. Mikey uses the wood floor and a wood chair to scratch on. Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Mikey looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Mikey remains crouched down at the back, alert with a vacant stare. Reaction to touch: Mikey accepts the stroke, but stiffens up in place then becomes flustered with the touch with eyes wandering and began to lip lick. Placement determination: Experience / no child Mikey tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
