Midnight A1053690 – 4 week old female black kitten
Scan : Negative
Sex: female
Approx 4 weeks
S/O: BARH, APP++, clear EENT, cardiac and thoracic auscultation normal. Non-ambulatory paraparesis. Pain sensation and motor function present x4. Weak cervical tone. Anal and tail tone normal. Bladder is small and palpable. Normal defecation. No palpable fractures. Attempts to take unsedated radiographs were unsuccessful. Gave 0.03ml of Buprenorphine
A: Possible head or spinal trauma.
P: Pain medication, monitor tonight and recheck tomorrow for improvement. If none, consider EHR due to poor long term prognosis and quality of life in the shelter.
PROGNOSIS: GUARDED
