08/24/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Michu looks away from the assessor upon approach. He watches the assessor and begins to purr lightly when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Michu remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Michu remains in place for petting and continues to purr, but nips when touched on his back. As per previous owner, Michu can become defensive and fearful when around children and other cats. He will not interact with them, and leave the room when he encounters them. He has not been socialized with dogs, but is described as being confident, mellow, friendly, assertive, aloof, affectionate, quiet, and independent with a low activity level. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Michu tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to his tendency to nip when touched on his back, we feel that this cat will do best in a home without children.
