She was friendly on intake and her owner stated there were no behavior problems with his cat. She always uses her litterbox and loves attention. She even likes to sleep with her owner. She is only 3 years old and has an entire life ahead of her IF the ACC is not allowed to kill her tomorrow at NOON. She was purchased by the owner at a pet store and was surrenered due to the owner’s signifiant other being afraid of and allergic to cats. The owner states there are no behavior issues and Mica has been a pleasure to have. She always uses the litter box and is very attention seeking. She will sit on her human and purr. She has a medium activity level and uses all cat toys. She scratches the carpet, but also has a scratching post made of cardboard. She will sleep in the bed with her human. At intake she allwoed all handling.

Please be advised that Mica seems to be in heat at the time of assessment, and the behavior presented at the time of evaluation may differ when the heat cycle is complete due to a change in hormonal balance. At the time of the assessment she was displaying friendly behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Mica is displaying behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but looks at you, calm, relaxed and friendly When spoken quietly: does not come to front but looks at you, calm, relaxed and friendly Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: allows petting and attention Try picking cat up: tolerant of this type of handling.
