***SAFE 12/08/15****MARVELOUS MIA—SWEET PRINCESS NEEDS RESCUE ANGEL! A volunteer writes, “Say hello to Mia, the cat who thinks she’s a dog! Except for a short stint on the streets as a kitten, Mia has spent her entire life playing, relaxing and nuzzling with her 3 Pitbull BFFs, Blue (A1058823), Precious (A1058824) and Bandito (A1058825), and no doubt she misses them dearly. The whole furry family joined us at the Care Center after their owners were evicted and each one has a special spark all their own with Miss Mia being the perfect mix of sociable and independent, snuggly and sassy. When I stop by for a visit she’s curled up asleep but photo shoots wait for no cat and after I gently pet her awake she rubs her cheek against every available surface before accepting my caresses with a purr. Gorgeous and healthy, it’s clear Mia was well cared for in her former home and she really does keep her den spotless, no muss and no fuss with this girl! She lived with two teens and is said to get along with everyone she meets, though her preference was always for spending time with her dogs, and we’re told her favorite toy is the ever popular laser pointer. This beautiful babe would happily fit into a new home of almost any size or species and whether you’re a ‘dog person’ or a ‘cat person’, she’s got you covered. Give a good family girl the second chance she deserves, today!” This poor girl, just two years old, lost her home with her canine pals due to the eviction of their former owner. In a purrfect world, this furry family would be able to remain together. But this is NOT a purrfect world and not only are these kitty and canine companions separated—their precious lives are at risk. We are not sure of the whereabouts of her dog pals but we know that this sweet, kind and gentle girl will become another sad stat when tomorrow afternoon rolls around if we don’t advocate for her tonight. Please reserve marvelous Mia or let a rescue know if you can help. Transportation is available. Help write a happy ending to Mia’s sad tale. Make the call for her NOW!!!

BEHAVIOR Mia sometimes enjoys being held, and other times tries to jump away. She’s friendly when woken up. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Mia’s family describes her as friendly, affectionate, playful, and mellow. She likes to play and cuddle with the dogs and chase a laser pointer beam. She lived inside and was free fed dry and wet cat food. She’s littertrained, used an uncovered litterbox with clumping litter, and didn’t have accidents. She scratched a table leg and didn’t have a scratching post. INTAKE Mia was a little tense as she slowly walked around and looked around on the counter. She tolerated being scanned (-), collared, pet, picked up, held, positioned for pictures, and put in a kennel. She tried to jump off the counter and tolerated me catching her as well. She didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize.
