MEOW – A1054106
Gone 10-14-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 10/14/15***What a handsome guy! Silky and cuddly 2 year old MEOW was found about two weeks ago with his brother WASHINGTON. They were taken in by a family who now has to give them up because the owner has asthma. MEOW played exuberantly around adults and children over the age of 2 and was relaxed, tolerant and affectionate with them. You can’t ask much more for that in a cat companion!! MEOW and his brother followed his family members around and sat on their laps. But now this poor gold-eyed beauty faces a lethal injection at the shelter if he’s not fostered or adopted. MEOW would thrive in an experienced cat home, where he could become your best friend and loyal companion. Please give this sweet Halloween kitty a chance to live! Save MEOW TODAY!!!!

10/11/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Meow was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The finder says Meow is shy with new people for a few minutes. He lived with children ages 2 and older and was relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with them. He plays exuberantly with adults and children. He was relaxed, affectionate, tolerant, and played exuberantly with the female cat in the home. He would usually keep a distance from the other male cat, but would sometimes wrestle and growl without breaking skin. He doesn’t mind being bathed, picked up, or held. He was described as friendly, affectionate, playful, and talkative with a medium energy level. Reaction to assessor: Meow was hiding inside a den upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Meow looks at the assessor through a peep hole with dilated eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Meow remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Meow was hesitant and slowly shifts away from the assessor’s hand. He allows brief touch, but is unwilling to come out of the hidey den. Behavior Determination: Experience Meow tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Although his finder reports that Meow does well around children, due to the behaviors seen in the care center, any future home with young children should conduct a thorough interaction.
