MELINDA – A1044812
I am an unaltered female, brown tabby Domestic Shorthair mix.
The shelter staff think I am about 13 weeks old.
I weigh 3 pounds.
I was found in NY 11415.
I have been at the shelter since Jul 20, 2015.
Notes: Melinda was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer. I was able to pet her and interact with her. I was also able to pick her up. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
Reaction to assessor: stays at front of cage crouched in the corner, appears fearrful
When spoken quietly: stays at front of cage crouched in the corner, appears fearrful, begins to hiss
Reaction to door cage opening: stays at front of cage and continues to hiss
Reaction to touch: hisses, remains motionless
Try picking cat up: Melinda’s body became tense but allows brief handling
Placement Determination: Experience no child
