MELINA – A1048231
8-22-2015 Brooklyn
**GONE 08/22/15** There is nothing about the ACC which is comforting to young, stray kittens. The concrete and stainless steel provide a harsh, unloving atmosphere; the sounds of barking, meowing, whining, aggravation, and death further set the stage for a kitten to be a tiny bit nervous of his surroundings. Despite all of that, 4-month-old MELINA is a young man who has handled himself with exceptional bravery in this setting, earning himself a nice EXPERIENCE rating. This is a kitten who deserves a lovely home, so please make sure to find a FOSTER or ADOPTER to be his hero, tonight!

08/21/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Melina was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes nervous when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer. I was able to pet him and interact with him. I was also able to pick him up for a limited time. Although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Reaction to assessor: playing with a toy When spoken quietly: playing with a toy Reaction to door cage opening: remains motionless, appears fearful Reaction to touch: allows petting and attention Try picking cat up: Melina allows limited handling before attempting flee Placement Determination: Experience no child
