08/03/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/03/15 16:06 BASIC INFO: Isis A1046507 is a 1 and a half year old domestic shorthair cat. She was a gift to the Owner from a friend. The Owner has had her for about a year. The main reason for surrender is because their is a 2 year old child in the home that Isis is not getting along with. Isis does not have any health concerns or issues. SOCIALIZATION Isis is friendly around strangers. She has lived with a 2 year old child and she played somewhat rough with the child. She also plays somewhat rough with adults. She has not lived with any other cats or dogs. She has never bitten or scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR: isis does hide in fear for a few minutes but comes out afterwards. She does cry alot in a car. Isis does not have any litterbox problems. isis struggles if you try to give her a bath. She enjoys being brushed. She enjoys being picked up and held, and being placed in a carrier. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: The best way to describe isis is by saying that she is very playful. she has a high activity level and loves to play with balls, stuffed toys and any kind of toy you give her. Owner’s favorite thing about Isis is that she is loveable. She has been kept mostly indoors, and sleeps wherever in the home she likes. She was fed Whiskas dry cat food. She used a regular litter box with Soop Away clumping litter. She uses an old suitcase to scratch on. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE: Isis was very timid and tried to flee while being handled.
08/29/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Megan is a pretty young sleepyhead with a funny independent streak. When I met her one afternoon she got up from a nap to say hello, sniffed me out, blinked at me softly, and then curled right up asleep again. She’s the kind of cat who has a mind of her own: she’s social, affectionate, and solicits attention, but she’ll let you know when she’s had enough petting and prefers to hang back solo. This well-behaved quirky girl would make a wonderful and low-maintenance BFF for pet parents who let her do her thing on her time. Come meet our Megan today!
08/06/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: megan looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: megan remains sitting upright by the front of the cage, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch:megan stands with tail up, head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. However, she becomes aroused after a few strokes and attempts to nip with a low tail flick. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes antsy and jumps back into her cage. Placement determination: Experience / no child Initially megan solicits petting and attention, but after a few soft passes over the body she begins to nip at the assessor. This may be a sign of petting-induced aggression, where repeated physical contact results in discomfort for the cat, or it may be a sign of overstimulation. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before megan becomes reactive. Treats should be used to reward appropriate responses to physical attention.
