I am a female white and black domestic mh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 5 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 09/27/2015 from NY 11101, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

A volunteer writes: Those sleepy eyes, that pink nose…this little guy would love to curl up with you. Mechi is quiet, and friendly- a gentle sweetheart that I got the chance to snuggle. He got right up, came to his cat condo door and was just as calm in my arms as he was sleeping in his cage. With his silky fur, this sweet guy will make the perfect snuggly companion. Come get this little man!!

Reaction to assessor: Mechi looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Mechi remains sitting upright by the front of the cage, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Mechi accepts the stroke, purrs in place, but would like to explore out of the cage and began to play rough with the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Mechi is social and affectionate but appears to play rough. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Mechi becomes overstimulated. We also recommend fishing pole-type toys for play as they allow for interaction and vigorous, stimulating exercise while keeping human hands at a distance.
