09/14/15 09:34 Basic Info: Max A1051399 is a chunky 3 1/2yr old neutered male black marble tabby feline who the owner took on when his primary owner passed away earlier this year. Max is being surrendered due to him scratching the furniture in the home and sleeping on the dining room table. His last vet visit was in 2013 or 2014 and he currently has no health issues/injuries. Socialization: Max is friendly/outgoing with strangers. He’s spent time/lived with children ages 4yrs, 10yrs & 18yrs old who he’s relaxed/affectionate, gentle & exuberant with during play; same with adults. Max hasn’t lived with other animals. He’s never bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: Max scratches furniture, sleeps on the dining room table and doesn’t use the scratching post he has. During car rides Max will meow/cry. Max’s behavior isn’t known for the following: being given a bath, having his nails trimmed or being disturbed while sleeping/resting. Max doesn’t like to be picked up/held or to be placed into a carrier. He enjoys being brushed. For a New Family to Know: Max is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, confident, assertive, independent & quiet with a low-medium activity level. Max enjoys scratching/trimming his nails. When the owner is home Max will follow them around. He enjoys ball, string & “hang up” toys. Max is an indoor only cat who sleeps on the dining room table. He’s never been given wet food, only seems to like Deli Cat dry food, only drinks bottled water (won’t drink faucet water) and enjoys Temptations cat treats. Max is litter box trained, he has a hooded litter box with clumping litter within. Intake Behavior: Max allowed all handling. He allowed us to scan (-), collar him and take his pictures. He didn’t resist or vocalize when we picked him up to place him into a kennel. He retreated to the back, laid down and began kneading immediately with no stopping.

He’s spent time/lived with children ages 4yrs, 10yrs & 18yrs old who he’s relaxed/affectionate, gentle & exuberant with during play; same with adults. Max is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, confident, assertive, independent & quiet with a low-medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Max looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Max remains lying down on his cage bedding, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Max head-butts the assessor’s hand, kneads in place, and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He calmly jumps back into his cage. Placement determination: Average Max interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
