MARYANNE – A1044015
7-19-2015 Manhattan Rescue: Anjellicle Cats Rescue Please honor your pledges: http://bit.ly/MaryanneA1044015
**SAFE 07/19/15** MARYANNE needs a NEW HOPE RESCUE to pull her to safety tonight, and her numbers tell the story. This pretty girl came to the shelter as a stray on 7/14 and her intake notes show us a very friendly cat. After a mere 24 hours in the ACC, we see a cat who is SO stressed by the experience that she needed to be sedated for her physical. Before you write MARYANNE off, think of how your own, good cat would behave in a terrifying shelter situation. MARYANNE deserves the chance to decompress and become a loving pet, but she only gets that chance if a NEW HOPE rescue group steps up for her tonight!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Maryanne looks tense in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Maryanne remains sitting upright on her cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Maryanne accepts a stroke, but becomes cautious with her surroundings then began to hiss and swat at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: NH ONLY Maryanne is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. She is stressed in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
