MARSHMELLOW – A1040072
6-18-2015 Manhattan Rescue: Feline Rescue of SI Please honor your pledges: http://felinerescueofstatenisland.org/donation/
**SAFE 06/18/15** Here’s the thing: MARSHMELLOW is a coddled 2-year-old spayed lady who knows she’s no stray. She knows she has a perfectly acceptable family somewhere, with perfectly acceptable food of her own, and her own perfectly acceptable daily routine. It is not uncommon for pets to take exception to the rough handling they receive at the ACC, which is how MARSHMELLOW came to earn her New Hope rating. This cat is absolutely someone’s lost pet, who is absolutely going to be killed in one of the worst ways possible, unless a New Hope rescue group steps up for her. Please pledge toward her care, please share her everywhere you can think of, and please work with a NH rescue, or message the Urgent help desk, if you can foster/adopt MARSHMELLOW, tonight!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Marshmellow looks tense in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Marshmellow remains crouched down facing the back of the cage, immobile in place. Reaction to touch: Marshmellow accepts a stroke, but quickly turned her head and hissed at the assessor’s hand. After, she stands up and swats at the hand. Placement determination: NH ONLY Marshmellow is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. She is stressed in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
