MARIO – A1046249
8-6-2015 Manhattan Rescue: All Sentient Beings Please honor your pledges: http://animalloversnetwork.org/
***SAFE 08/06/15*** MARIO IS A HANDSOME GINGER MAN WHO IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY BUT WILL DIE BECAUSE HE IS AFRAID! MARIO was dumped by his owner for moving. He is about 3 years old and healthy. No information was left by his owner and the ACC has not added any info from the intake notes. MARIO allows handling but is very sad his owner abandoned him. He received and EXPNOCHILD rating because he is traumatized at being discarded like trash. We know that these ratings only measure the fear they have IN the shelter and that once back in a loving home, where they can relax again, MARIO will be just fine. HELP MARIO HAVE A HAPPY ENDING TO HIS STORY. CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO PULL HIM TO SAFETY.

08/04/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Mario was resting in his cage upon approach. He looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes and starts to blink when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Mario becomes alert, retreats to the back of the cage and hisses. Reaction to touch: Mario was very hesitant of touch and inched away from the assessor’s hand. He lowers his entire body, but allows touch and twitches when pet on his body. He lip licks and stress meows afterwards. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Mario tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
