10/12/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Marcy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was easy to handle upon intake and was tolerant to handling during her initial medical exam. Reaction to Assessor: Marcy was resting in her cage upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Marcy does not respond and continues to rest. Reaction to cage door opening: Marcy becomes alert and hisses. Reaction to touch: Marcy begins to growl and focus on the assessor’s hand. She slowly tries to avoid touch, but hisses and swats when petting was attempted. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Marcy is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
