MANTECA – A1040463
6-25-2015 Brooklyn
***GONE 06/25/15*** SUPER RARE THIRD CHANCE FOR SWEET KITTEN MANTECA – WILL THE THIRD TIME BE THE CHARM???? 8 MONTH OLD MANTECA was brought into the shelter as a stray and was friendly upon intake. Sadly, after she was processed into the scary ACC, not knowing what is happening to her, she became tense and nervous in the shelter but what cat isn’t?? So they slapped her with a NEW HOPE rating!! These ratings are so unfair as they only measure the FEAR IN THE SHELTER and not how a cat will be in a home. MANTECA is PURRFECTLY HEALTHY TOO! Today- this is an urgent scenario for this pretty tabby girl. MANTECA will not get a chance to live past her first birthday, as at NOON THURSDAY the euth tech will stick a needle in her and toss her into a black plastic freezer bag. Is THIS the epitome of the new labelled Animal “CARE” Center? DON’T LET THEM MAKE THIS KITTEN ANOTHER STATISTIC THAT THEY CAN SWEEP UNDER THE RUG – CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO GIVE MANTECA A CHANCE TO LIVE AND HAVE A FUREVER HOME. SHE IS DEPENDING ON YOU FOR HER LIFE!!!

06/22/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Manteca was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. She seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to strike through the cage door . She is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: swats, strikes at me When spoken quietly: swats, strikes at me Reaction to door cage opening: retreats, swats Reaction to touch: does not allow petting at all Try picking cat up: does not allows petting or handling at all. Placement Determination: NewHope
