Social Life and Personality:Manila lived with 2 adults and children ages 3 months and 6 years old. Owner stated Manila is affectionate and respectful towards everyone in the household. Her behavior is unknown towards other animals. Manila is indoors only and activity level is to a medium. Owner states that she hided when company come around and comes out once they are gone. Owner describes her behavior as shy, mellow, affectionate, and independent. Behavior issues: Manila never bitten or scratched anyone to owner knowledge. She struggles to take a bath and never had her nails trimmed. She enjoys be picking up and held. For a New Family to Know: Manila is litter box trained and uses an uncovered litter box. She likes to play with balls, wrappers, boxes and cardboard. She had a scratching post made out of cardboard. She likes to sit next to owner or be in owner bed by their feet. She eats dry food which is organic for Trader Joes twice a day. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Manila was nervous and attempt to flee when outside of carrier. She scanned negative for a microchip and allowed all handling.

Reaction to Assessor: Manila was calm and relaxed by the front. She gets up and leans her head onto the cage door when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Manila remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Manila head-butts, leans on the assessor’s hand, and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Manila remains soft and allows handling. As per previous owner, Manila has lived with 2 adults and 2 children. She is affectionate and respectful towards everyone in the home, but her behavior around other animals is unknown. She was kept indoors only and was described as shy, mellow, affectionate, and independent with a medium activity level. She has never bitten or scratched anyone before. She enjoys being picked up and held and likes to sit next to the owner. Behavior Determination: Average Manila interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
