11/02/2015 14:48 Basic Information: Malcolm is a six year old male domestic short hair cat who likes to cuddle, will nibble at your finger to let you know when he wants to play, and likes to drink from running water. Social Life and Personality: Malcolm has been around children of all ages and is respectful of their space. When he plays with children he is gentle. Malcolm has never been around any other cats or dogs so it is unknown how he will react to them. Malcolm is litter box trained and has been kept indoors only. Malcolm has been described as playful, confident, mellow, friendly, assertive, talkative, affectionate and independent with a high activity level. Behavior Issues: Malcolm has good behavior. When Malcolm is in a new environment and is fearful he will eat at night when no one is around. Malcolm has never bitten a person or animal. Malcolm will struggle when someone is giving him a bath with running water but enjoys it when the water isn’t running. Malcolm isn’t bothered by anyone trimming his nails. Malcolm enjoys having someone brush his coat, pick up and hold him or disturb him while he rests. Malcolm will struggle when being placed in a carrier. For a New family to Know: Malcolm uses clumping litter in a hooded litter box. Malcolm likes to play with catnip toys and uses a ramp shaped scratching post made of rough rope. When at home Malcolm will follow you around and likes to be in the same room as you. When Malcolm plays he is gentle. Malcolm likes to eat dry food from the brand Friskies. Malcolm’s favorite treat is catnip and he likes to sleep in chairs. Intake Behavior: Malcolm allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip and take pictures with no signs of aggression.

Malcolm’s former owner stated he has been around children of all ages and is respectful of their space. When he plays with children he is gentle. Malcolm has never been around any other cats or dogs so it is unknown how he will react to them. Also, has been described as playful, confident, mellow, friendly, assertive, talkative, affectionate and independent with a high activity level. Reaction to assessor: Malcolm looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Malcolm remains lying down on his cage bedding, eyes are normal shape. Reaction to touch: Malcolm accepts the stroke then slowly stands up in place and began to head-butt the assessor’s hand. Reaction to Being Picked up: He calmly jumps back into his cage. Placement determination: Average Malcolm interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
