MAKISM – A1030688
4-5-2015
Maksim is someone’s lost pet, and you know what happens to lost pets at the NYCACC; they are killed. Maksim weighs almost 10 pounds and is already neutered, so this 12-month-old kitten has had great care up until the point of entering the shelter as a stray on 3/18. It’s a pity his former owners didn’t keep him safe at home, but hopefully his new foster/adoptive owners will make sure he stays safe from now on. It is premature to talk about what those potential new owners might do, when Maksim still has nobody to call his own. Please make sure to find him some new owners tonight, or this excellent cat will be killed tomorrow afternoon.

03/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Maksim looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Maksim remains crouched down hiding in his cat den, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Maksim accepts the stroke, but stiffens up during the touch and remains cautious with his surroundings. Placement determination: Experience / no child Maksim tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
