I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 09/27/2015 from NY 11229, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-033795.

09/30/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Maddie was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Maddie was hiding in her litter box. Reaction when softly spoken to: Maddie makes eye contact with the assessor and lays motionless. She lowers her head and starts to breathe heavily. Reaction to cage door opening: Maddie remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Maddie keeps her body low and slow blinks. She eventually leans in for attention. Reaction to being picked up: Maddie was tense when held. She gets antsy and tries to jump away. Behavior Determination: Experience Maddie tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. Please note that Maddie is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation.We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
