MACY – A1054800

Gone 10-19-2015 Manhattan

***GONE 10/19/15***MARVELOUS MACY-BLACK AND WHITE SWEETHEART NEEDS NEW FRIEND! Macy is an adorable black and white two year old girl who sadly lost her home when her family moved and decided not to take her along. This great girl is purrfectly healthy and got rave reviews from her former owner who says Macy is “kind, playful, relaxed and affectionate. She enjoys being petted and picked up.” Macy has been around small children. She did her “biz” in the bathtub so may need to be re-trained to use a litterbox. She was a good girl during her behavior eval but got a little excited—ending up with a respectable experience no kids rating (which is silly since she has lived peacefully with kids). This poor girl deserves a break and obviously has great manners and should settle in well in any new home. Won’t you please help write a happy ending to marvelous Macy’s sad tale? Please offer to foster or adopt. Transportation can be arranged by contacting one of our NH partners. Let’s move this black and white sweetheart to safe haven before it’s too late. Make the call for marvelous Macy NOW!

10/17/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Macy’s former owner stated around children she is relaxed and affectionate. Macy has been around children age 3 and plays gently and exuberantly with them. Macy has never been around any other cats or dogs it is unknown how she would react to them. Macy has been kept indoors only and has a medium activity level.Macy is described as:playful, confident, shy, friendly, fearful and affectionate. Reaction to assessor: Macy looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Macy remains crouched position at the back of the cage, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Macy accepts the stroke, but once touched along the back she began to meow whine then skin twitch and hisses at the assessor’s hand to stop. Placement determination: Experience / no child Initially Macy solicits petting and attention, but after a few soft passes over the body she begins to meow whine and hiss at the assessor. This may be a sign of petting-induced aggression, where repeated physical contact results in discomfort for the cat, or it may be a sign of overstimulation. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Macy becomes reactive. Treats should be used to reward appropriate responses to physical attention.
