Reaction to assessor: Hiding when I approach. (3) When spoken quietly: Continutes to hide. (3) Reaction to door cage opening: Retreats. (3) Reaction to touch: Moves away to avoid being touched, not fractious. (3) Try picking cat up: Did not attempt, cat appears stressed. Notes: Lydia came into the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. At the time of the assessment, Lydia is displaying fearful behavior. She avoids interacting with the assessor and attempts to hide. Lydia is exhibiting behavior suited for experienced cat parents.
