10/26/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/26/15 19:11 Basic Information Lulu is a 3 year old brown and white tabby spayed cat that came in as an owner surrender. Owner stated that she got Lulu from her son a few months ago. She surrendered Lulu because she has arthritis and her back legs have given out. She received treatment from a vet but owner stated that they haven’t helped. Her last vet visit was 2 weeks ago however; she will undergo a complete medical examination. Owner stated that her favorite things about Lulu are that she’s quiet and friendly. Social Life & Personality Owner had other cats in the home that Lulu often played with. She also had children aged 15 and 11 in the household that Lulu often played with. She has not been socialized with dogs at all. Lulu is litter box trained and before her back legs gave out, she didn’t have any litter box accidents. She is kept indoors only and has a medium activity level. Owner described her as playful, shy, friendly, fearful, quiet and independent. Behavior Issues Since Lulu was diagnosed with arthritis, it’s been difficult for her to move around with her back legs out making it more difficult for her to get to her litter box in time to use it. As a result, she has daily litter box accidents. She displays no other signs of behavior issues. Lulu hasn’t gotten a bath since she was kitten and did not enjoy it then. Neither does she enjoy having her nails trimmed or being picked up and held. Owner stated that she also struggled with putting Lulu into the carrier. Upon intake, Lulu struggled to move her body from one carrier to the next. She displayed signs of nervousness and was shivering uncontrollably. She allowed herself to be photographed and collard however, handler did not attempt to remove her from the carrier to take her photo as an attempt to reduce her stress level. For a New Family to Know Lulu uses an uncovered litter box. She enjoys playing with balls and string toys and has a scratching post made of carpet. Owner stated that she enjoys drinking running water from the faucet and will often signal to be picked up and put on to the counter to have the faucet turned on so she can drink. When home with the owner, Lulu tends to follow her around and be in the same room as her. She eats both dry and wet food and enjoys cat party mix as a treat. She has a bed that she does not use and often sleeps anywhere in the home. Owner stated that Lulu enjoyed sitting on the window sill.
