Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Luis’s former owner stated he has been around children ages 5 and up. Luis is a curious cat and likes to be around children. He is gentle and sometimes shy around strangers. When he is around familiar family member he seeks attention. He is friendly and relaxed with other dogs that come to visit. He approached the family dogs and sniff, then shies away. Also, reactive towards cats. Reaction to assessor: Luis looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Luis remains at the front of the cage, soft and relaxed, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Luis allows the stroke, but flinches on the touch, stiffens in place, and tucks his head under his cage bedding. Placement determination: Experience / no child Luis tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
