07/07/15 10:41 Basic Info: Lucy is a 10 year old spayed cat who has no known injuries but is declawed on both front and rear paws. She has started to shown signs of arthritis. She was surrendered to the shelter due to housing issues with the owner. Social life and Personality: According to the owner she is not bothered or interested when around children (was around children from ages 1-11). She does not play and has the same behavior towards cats and dogs (lived with A1042997 Sammy and A1042995 Brooklyn). She is litter box trained, kept indoors only, and has a low level of energy. Behaviors: She has not bitten or scratched anyone or any animal and was never given a bath, had her nails clipped, or her fur brushed. She is afraid, will struggle and hiss if picked up and held. New Family Info: She is used to clumping litter inside a hooded box. She does not play with toys or scratch and at home rarely seeks attention. She was fed wet food. Intake Behavior: Was aggressive when handled. Allowed minimal handling. Allowed to be scanned (negative) and collared without aggression but when being placed into new carrier would hiss and attempt to bite. When inside new carrier would hiss and growl and would lunge at door when admission counselor attempted to go near it.

According to the former owner she is not bothered or interested when around children (was around children from ages 1-11). She does not play and has the same behavior towards cats and dogs. Please take note: Lucy is front paws declawed. Reaction to assessor: Lucy looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Lucy remains crouched down on her cage bedding, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Lucy accepts the stroke, stands with tail up, head-butts the assessor’s hand, and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes antsy and jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Lucy interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
