** SAFE 11/18/15 ** SWEET LITTLE LUCKY IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD….In that time, he has lived successfully with other cats, dogs and kids…His former owner surrendered him for “PET HEALTH” which looks to be a URI. LUCKY scored an AVERAGE in his evaluation and started purring when he was being petted!! LET’S NOT LET LUCKY GO DOWN FOR A COLD…His former owner was a loser and he needs someone now who will cherish and love him. LUCKY WOULD BE A GREAT FAMILY CAT!! 11/14/15 18:43 Basic Information: Lucky is a 3yr old male domestic short haired cat that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Social Life & Personality: Lucky has been around children and interacted with them in a playful gentle manner. He has lived with other cats and they got along just fine according to the owner. Lucky also has been around dogs and he interacted with them in a gentle manner. Lucky is an indoor only cat that is litter box trained. Lucky is described to be friendly, playful, and affectionate with a medium activity level. Behavior Issues: Lucky has never bitten a person or another animal according to the owner. Lucky has recieved baths and appears to be afraid and will struggle when this grooming agent is being performed. Lucky takes well to having his nails trimmed and also likes to have his coat brushed. Lucky likes to be held and takes well to being put in a cat carrier for transport. For a New Family to Know: Lucky was brought up using clumping litter and a hooded litter box. He was given all sorts of cat toys. Lucky used a vertical scratchingpost made of tough rope. When in the home Lucky is the type to follow you around seeking attention or be in the same room sitting on your lap. When interacting with humans he plays in a gentle manner. When in the car for transport Lucky appears to be fine and will either sleep or just enjoy the ride. Lucky was brought up eating both wet/dry food and the brand the owner gave was Science Diet Immune Health. Behavior Upon intake: Upon intake,. Lucky allowed all handling and was purring. He showed no signs of aggression.

Lucky came to the shelter surrendered by an owner who described him as friendly, playful and affectionate, and notes that he socialized well with children, dogs and other cats in the home. Reaction to assessor: Lucky is lying in the back of his cage, soft and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lucky stands up and stretches. Reaction to cage door opening: Lucky remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Lucky leans into petting and begins to purr. Reaction to pick up: Lucky is calm during this type of handling. Placement Determination: Average Lucky does not approach the assessor, but is relaxed and allows all handling. Lucky is exhibiting behavior suited to average cat parents. Please note that Lucky is being treated for an upper-respiratory infection at the time of the assessment, and this may affect the behaviors shown.
