06/17/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Lorenzo was calm and relaxed upon approach. When softly spoken to, he blinks and peaks his head forward a little to sniff the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Lorenzo becomes alert, but slowly comes to the front. Reaction to touch: Lorenzo sniffs the assessor’s hand and allows stroke on his head and back. He relaxes a little when pet, but seems wary of the environment. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Lorenzo tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Reaction to assessor: Lorenzo looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Lorenzo remains lying down on his cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Lorenzo is walking in crouched position towards the assessor’s hand with tail slightly down and began to head-butt during the stroke. He starts to solicit attention, but while the assessor’s hand is retreating he extends his arm to swat with no claws, for the petting to continue. Placement determination: Experience / no child Lorenzo solicits attention and tolerates petting but may be assertively demanding of attention. Due to his swats we feel that this cat will do best in a home without children.
