Her people surrendered her because they said they could no longer take care of her but kept the other two housecats…..and they didn’t practice spay/neuter because LILLY was born in their home. LILLY is very affectionate with people and her cat housemates. She likes to play and was OK with small children….This lovely one year needs a FOSTER tonite if she’s going to make it out of the ACC alive!! 08/14/15 13:15 Lilly is a 1 year old female brown tabby domestic shorthair cat who is being surrendered because the owner can no longer take care of her. Lilly was born in the owners home. Lilly lives with 3 adults and 2 other cats that she is related to. Lilly is very affectionate with both her cat and human family members. When visitors come to the home she will greet them and is curious. Lilly has been exposed to small children and reported to be very tolerant. She uses a litter box with clumping litter and likes it to be kept clean. Lilly has not been bathed by her family but enjoys playing with water. She has not had her nails trimmed. Lilly does not mind being brushed and enjoys being picked up. She has not rode in a carrier much. Lilly likes to play swat and chase with balls and other objects and owner describes her as playful. When the family is home she likes to where they are. Lilly does not have a scratching post but likes to scratch cardboard boxes. Lilly prefers dry food. Upon intake Lilly was shy for introduction but easily picked up and handled. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. Lilly was slightly tense after handling but was easily replaced to the carrier and did not become defensive.

08/17/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Lilly’s face was squeezed into the corner of her blanket upon approach. She lifts her head to look at the assessor when softly spoken to, but starts to breathe rapidly. Reaction to cage door opening: Lilly becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Lilly was hesitant of touch, but remains in place and is immobile for petting. Her ears bend sideways, she twitches when pet on her back, and she lip licks throughout the interaction. As per previous owner, Lilly has lived with three adults and two other cats. She is very affectionate with her feline and human family members. She will greet visitors when they come to the home and is curious. When around small children, she has been reported to be very tolerant. She has not been given a bath, but enjoys playing with water. Lilly does not mind being brushed and enjoys being picked up. Behavior Determination: Experience Lilly tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
