LEXIE – A1056789
Gone 11-7-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 11/07/15***LOVELY LEXIE NEEDS YOU! Lexie is a one year old terrific tabby who desperately needs her rescue angel. This great girl was dumped at the shelter a few days ago by someone who was feeding her and a few kittens (not sure if they were hers). Not sure why the finder decided to dump this sad but sweet girl along with a few other of her feline friends at the kill happy shelter. But one thing is for sure—if no one steps up for this great gal tonight, she will become another sad ACC stat when tomorrow afternoon rolls around. Lexie is purrfectly healthy with an excellent prognosis but this could still be her last night ever if her hero doesn’t come forward. Lexie tolerates petting and handling but is visibly fearful and who can blame her? Please give this shy sweetie a chance for a happy new life by reserving her online. Or let a rescue know if you can help. Transportation is available. Won’t you be the kind purrson that helps write a happy ending to lovely Lexie’s sad tale? Make the call for this terrific tabby NOW!!!

11/03/15 13:24 Brook A1056788, Lexie A1056789, Bailey A1056791 are strays that were being fed by the finder. He has been feeding them on his porch for the past couple of months. He says that there are alot of kittens now because of breeding. He was able to catch Lexie (the mom) and says that Brook and Bailey are most likely from another litter. Behavior during intake Lexie A1056789 allowed to be scanned(-) but then jumped of the box and ran out. We had to safely use the net to transfer her into a carrier. She did not hiss or growl and was tense during examination.

11/06/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Lexie looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Lexi remains lying down at the front of the cage however, she began to slowly retreat, yowling out loud. Reaction to touch: Lexi does not allow the stroke then stiffens up in place, stress meows and hisses at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Lexie tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
