LEXI – A1059388
Gone 12-9-2015 Brooklyn
***GONE 12/09/15*** SECOND CHANCE for LEXI, DO NOT LET HER BE KILLED IN THE WAKE OF HER FORMER OWNERS’ DEATH! Little LEXI, she is so small and frail she doesn’t look to be a swinging senior at 10 years old. LEXI landed in the ACC when her owner died which is NO fault of her own. She will need a complete check up with a competent vet to see if there are any further underlying conditions in her body as the ACC vet suspects there are. She was dehydrated but had a great appetite. Lexi also was purring and soliciting attention. PLEASE FOSTER this girl and the RESCUE will pay for vetting,or ADOPT her and assume the responsibility of getting LEXI the vetting care that’s needed! Either way PLEASE!!! Take this girl out of the shelter. SHE ONLY HAS UNTIL NOON TOMORROW!

12/07/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Lexi was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was easy to handle upon intake, but was tense and nervous during her initial medical exam. Please note that this cat is being treated for a medical condition at the time of evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. Reaction to Assessor: Lexi comes to the front and is calm, relaxed, and friendly. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lexi meows and head-butts the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Lexi remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Lexi head-butts, leans into petting, and begins to purr. She is very affectionate throughout the interaction, however, if she is pet too hard and rubbed for an extensive amount of time, she will meow and nip gently. She will head-butt again afterwards and allow gentle petting. Reaction to being picked up: Lexi remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Experience Lexi interacts with the observer and appreciates attention, but she may dislike extensive handling and hard petting. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Lexi becomes overstimulated.
