11/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Leo’s previous owner states that she has lived with three adults and does not know how she would behave around children or dogs. She has lived with another cat and is relaxed, affectionate, and exuberant during play with him. The play was described as friendly wrestling. She is litter box trained and was kept indoors. She has a medium activity level and was described as playful, confident, mellow, friendly, affectionate, and quiet. She enjoys being picked up and held and likes to follow the owners around. Reaction to assessor: Leo does not come to the front, but remains calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Leo looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Leo becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Leo becomes wary of the assessor’s hand and slowly shifts away from it. She focuses on the hand and allows brief touch on her head. She moves away to avoid it afterwards and starts to hiss and growl. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Leo tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
