Lenny A1058369- 8 weeks old, Male, Domestic Short Hair, White and Gray, Stray, 1.8 pounds

Medical:

scan: neg

sex: male

est age: 1.5-2mos

S/O: Kitten is Q/BAR, hisses but does not try to bite or swat, red ribbon wrapped around left hind leg at distal metatarsals – paw is swollen and bloody, BCS 4-5/9, coat covered in dirt, NOSF

A: Strangulation injury LH paw

P: Sedated kitten with 0.04cc Telazol IM, cut ribbon and soaked paw in chlorhexidine solution; injury is severe enough it will need amputation; gave 0.1cc PPG SQ and 0.04cc buprenorphine 0.5mg/ml SQ – start on 0.25cc Amoxi/clav 45.7mg/ml BID x10d and 0.04cc buprenorphine 0.5mg/ml SQ BID x 3d; also needs 0.41cc Panacur PO SID x 3d and 0.18cc Ponazuril PO SID x 2d

PROGNOSIS:

Good with proper care and amputation of LH
