*Limited profile due to language barrier Basic Information: Kotek is a 4yr old male DLH cat. He was given to owner as gift and has no known health issues. Kotek was surrendered to ACC due to a residential move out of the country. Socialization: Kotek has not lived with children but has been exposed to a 9 yr old. Kotek is usually tolerant of children & displays a relaxed body around the child. Kotek may be a bit timid at first with strangers. Kotek allows strangers to pet him & be near him. He has never resided with another cat, dog or any other small animals. Kotek is litter box trained & is an indoor/outdoor cat. Kotek enjoys going out on the patio & will always come back home. His activity level is medium & is described as a playful, friendly & affectionate cat. For a New Family to Know: Kotek uses clay litter inside of an uncovered litter box. Kotek enjoys playing with balls, strings & stuffed toys. Kotek does not use a scratching post & will not scratch on furniture or carpet. When owner is home, Kotek will follow owner around & look for affection. Kotek enjoys eating wet & dry food from brand: (Fancy feast). Kotex enjoys sleeping on the owners bed. Behavior during intake: Kotek appeared to be tense and curious of the facility’s environment. Once Kotek was taken out of carrier he appeared to be timid, but was very sweet and allowed all handling.

Owner Profile: Kotek was bought into the care center by his previous owner due to moving. Kotek has been exposed children. Kotek is usually tolerant of children & displays a relaxed body around the child. Kotek may be a bit timid at first with strangers. Kotek allows strangers to pet him & be near him. Kotek has not lived with other animals so his behavior towards them remains unknown. Kotek is litter box trained & is an indoor/outdoor cat. Kotek enjoys going out on the patio & will always come back home. His activity level is medium & is described as a playful, friendly & affectionate cat. Notes: Kotek seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment he was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: was hiding when I approach cage When spoken quietly: continues to hide Reaction to door cage opening: becomes stiff, alert Reaction to touch: growls, hisses, strikes, does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick the cat up, fractious behavior.
