7-8-2015 Brooklyn
***GONE 07/08/15*** FORMERLY “FRIENDLY, PLAYFUL” BOY, DUMPED DUE TO “PERSONAL PROBLEMS”, IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY, BUT WILL NOW DIE DUE TO HIS FEAR – PLEASE GRANT KNICKERBOCKE A DEATH ROW PARDON!!! Handsome black and white six-year-old boy KNICKERBOCKE was sadly surrendered to the kill-happy ACC due to his former owner’s PERSONAL PROBLEMS. At home, Knickerbocke was a DELIGHT: ” Knickerbocker is a friendly cat who can be aloof at times and is also playful when he is comfortable with people.” But Knickerbocke is utterly TERRIFIED in the scary shelter, so when he was POKED and PRODDED with the frightening fake hand used for cat behavior tests, Knickerbocke responded defensively. The heartless ACC PUNISHED this dear boy with New Hope Only and fast-tracked him to the noon kill list for tomorrow, despite the fact that Knickerbocke is PERFECTLY HEALTHY! Please don’t let them silence his purrs forever. Start RIGHT NOW to apply to foster or adopt betrayed black and white boy KNICKERBOCKE! If you can’t save KNICKERBOCKE yourself, please SHARE his sad story and PLEDGE for his rescue!

07/06/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Knickerbocker does not come to the front, but remains neutral inside his cage. When softly spoken to, he closes his eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Knickerbocker becomes alert and starts to low growl. Reaction to touch: Knickerbocker ears bend flat against his head and shifts away from touch. When attempting to pet him, he growls louder. He allows brief touch on his head, but shifts away again and starts to lip lick. As per previous owner, Knickerbocker was panicked and nervous during the car ride and he hissed and became defensive when the owner tried to place him in a carrier. The owner says can be friendly and affectionate when he is comfortable with a person and in a positive situation. Behavior Determination: NH ONLY Knickerbocker is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
