KITTY – A1047444
8-18-2015 Brooklyn
***GONE 08/18/15*** KITTY IS AN INDEPENDENT LADY WHOSE OWNER DISCARDED AFTER 12 LONG YEARS! KITTY is a lady with her own mind. And she does NOT like the ACC or the people in there. She is in fairly good heath for her age and may need her teeth checked but KITTY was not allowing the staff to poke and prod her like they wanted to. She was head butting and rubbing when the assessor stopped by but then she also hissed at him giving her an EXPNOCHILD rating. KITTY has not been around kids or other pets but her ex owner said she was a playful, independent and affectionate cat. KITTY needs a rescue angel tonight because her life is scheduled to end at NOON Tuesday. IF YOU CAN SAVE KITTY, PLEASE CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO PULL HER TO SAFETY. SENIOR CATS ARE GREAT COMPANIONS AND IF YOU WANT ONE WHO IS MORE INDEPENDENT- KITTY IS YOUR CAT!!!

08/13/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Kitty was calm, relaxed, and friendly upon approach. She comes to the front and head-butts the cage door when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Kitty remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Kitty head-butts hard and begins to purr. After some time, she hisses and pats the assessor’s hand with her paw (without nails), but she continues to rub again after. Shortly after, she does the same thing and seems less tolerant of attention. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Initially Kitty solicits petting and attention, but after a few soft passes over the body she begins to hiss and swat at the assessor without nails. This may be a sign of petting-induced aggression, where repeated physical contact results in discomfort for the cat, or it may be a sign of overstimulation. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Kitty becomes reactive. Treats should be used to reward appropriate responses to physical attention. Due to behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a home without children.
