KITTIE – A1060602
Safe 12-27-2015 Manhattan Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
***SAFE 12/27/15*** KITTIE is a 5 year old with the face of a little angel! Poor thing is experiencing secretions from her genitals but will need a competent vet to find out the root of the problem. As she needs to be vetted, she is RESCUE ONLY so if you can FOSTER or ADOPT her you will need to first contact a NEW HOPE RESCUE. She’s just 3 years old and hadn’t seen a vet in 3 years, yet was surrendered due to “child conflict”. Either way, its a coward’s way out of caring for their pet and make it the public’s problem! FOSTER her and she will get the vetting she needs free of charge, as the rescue will pay for it. ADOPT her, but again, will need to be pulled by a New Hope Rescue and you will assume responsibility for her vetting! Just please…. Someone step up and help this girl!

12/15/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
12/15/15 12:24 Basic Info: Kittie A1060602 is a 3yr old female brown tabby & white DSH feline who was found as a stray in the building 3yrs ago and is being surrendered due to child conflict. Kittie was last seen at a vet 3yrs ago and currently is experiencing some discharge from her genitals. Socialization: Around strangers Kittie is shy for a few minutes. She’s spent time with children ages 2months- 9yrs and she’ll ignore them, run away from but if they attempt to approach her she’ll growl and or swat at them. Kittie’s play style with adults is gentle. She hasn’t been around animals. Kittie scratched a child a few years ago during play and scratched a 2month old a couple of days ago that was laying in their crib. Behavior: During car rides Kittie was meowing at first then seemed more comfortable with it. She struggles to get away during baths also when being placed into a carrier, they haven’t trimmed her nails, she enjoys being brushed. Kittie does not like to be picked up or held. She hasn’t been disturbed while sleeping/resting. For a New Family to Know: Kittie is described as friendly (sometimes), playful, mellow, confident, independent & talkative with a low-medium activity level. When the owner is home Kittie follows them around when she’s hungry. She enjoy ball toys. Kittie is an indoor only cat who sleeps around the home and eats dry Meow Mix all day. She is uncovered litter box trained with crystal litter within. Kittie will sometimes scratch on furniture in the home and doesn’t have a scratching post. Intake Behavior: Kittie had a soft, relaxed body & allowed all handling. She allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of. She hissed initially when being picked up but didn’t struggle to get away. Kittie was head butting quite a bit, walked out of the carrier on her own onto the table for pictures and was laying on her side looking up at us as we began taking her picture.

12/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Kittie’s former owner stated around strangers Kittie is shy for a few minutes. She’s spent time with children ages 2months- 9yrs and she’ll ignore them, run away from, but if they attempt to approach her she’ll growl and or swat at them. Kittie’s play style with adults is gentle. She hasn’t been around animals. Reaction to assessor: Kittie looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Kittie remains crouched position on her cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Kittie slowly head-butts the assessor’s hand, but meow whines during the stroke when touched on the body and grumbles in place. Placement determination: Experience / no child Kittie tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
