Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Kimberly was calm and relaxed upon approach. When softly spoken to, she looks at the assessor, stretches, and comes to the front. Reaction to cage door opening: Kimberly retreats to the back. Reaction to touch: Kimberly was hesitant of touch at first, but relaxes and begins to purr. She comes back to the front again and is still unsure, but head-butts softly. Reaction to being picked up: Kimberly becomes tense and prefers to be inside her cage. As per previous owner, Kimberly is affectionate and attentive. She has not been around children or other animals. She will hide and tolerant their presence. She was described as playful, friendly, confident, assertive, affectionate, shy, fearful, quiet, mellow, and independent. Kimberly likes to be held and likes to have her fur brushed. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Kimberly tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
