*** GONE 09/01/15 *** KIMBA IS A CHUBETTE WHO IS GOOD WITH KIDS….Surrendered this past FRIDAY, she is already listed. Clearly KIMBA misses her family and does not understand why she is here….The ACC has given KIMBA a NEW HOPE rating but does this sound like a NEW HOPE cat? “Kimba has been socialized with children but has not been socialized with other cats or dogs. When she is around children she is respectful and tolerant. When she is interacting with children she is gentle well behaved and well behaved. She is an indoor cat who is litter trained. She is described as being confident shy mellow assertive aloof quiet and independent. She has a low activity level….” PLEASE GIVE KIMBA THE CHANCE THE ACC ISN’T….KIMBA needs some time to get used to a new situation and a new PURRSON….SAVE KIMBA BY OFFERING TO FOSTER OR ADOPT!!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Kimba has been around children and is respectful and tolerant around them. She is gentle and well behaved when interacting with them. She has not been around other cats or dogs, so her behavior around them is unknown. She was kept indoors and was described as confident, shy, mellow, assertive, aloof, quiet, and independent. She has a low activity level and is nervous during car rides. She isn’t bothered when her fur is brushed, but will struggle when picked up or held. Reaction to Assessor: Kimba becomes alert and starts to growl upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kimba hisses and focuses on the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Kimba charges to the front, hisses, and strikes. Reaction to touch: Kimba does not allow touch; she hisses, spits, and swats. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Kimba is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat, is extremely uncomfortable in the shelter environment, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
