S/O: Vet check for regurgitating, and difficulty opening eyes. Patient was NPO’d last night at 8 PM. This morning, patient is BAR, still moderate-severely belpharospastic. Brown mucoid discharge present periocularly. Clean litter pan. Patient greeted the cage door when opened, allowed handling, elicits attention.
mm= pink, moist
hydration = adequate
EENT = clean teeth, no linear foreign body under tongue, nnd, brown mucoid discharge (mild to moderate) OU; Moderate to severe blepharospasm, OU – entropion present (OD>OS), possible micropalpebral fissures, OU
H/L: nma, nsr; clear lung fields, bilaterally
Abdomen: snp, thin loops of intestines, no masses/organomegaly palpated
GU: MI, 2 testicles descended; no palpable bladder
MS: BCS = 4/9; amb x 4, no gait abnormalities noted
Integ: clean coat
CNS: appropriate
LN: wnl
A:
1. Regurgitation – r/o GI vs. extra GI
2. Entropion – r/o conformation vs. dystichia vs. other
Prognosis: Good
P:
1. Speak to New Hope regarding case for surgical options.
2. Remove NPO sign, offer 1/2 amount of feeding + water and monitor
3. Fluorescein Dye Stain OU
