10/02/15 18:31 Kerry was brought into ACC today as a stray cat. Kerry is an orange female cat who appears healthy. She was nervous and aloof throughout the Intake process. She allowed herself to be photographed inside of her carrrier. She also allowed herself to be placed inside of a new carrier without incident. She did not allow handling of any kind throughout the Intake process. When an attempt was made to handle her she would growl and hiss and retreat further into her carrier and would struggle when touched.

10/05/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Kerry was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was nervous and aloof throughout the intake process. She would growl and hiss when the counselor attempts to interact with her, retreating further into her carrier. Despite her nervousness, she allowed handling during her initial medical exam. Please note that Kerry is being treated for dehydration at the time of the behavior assessment. Please note that her behavior may change once she has fully recovered from this condition. Reaction to Assessor: Kerry was resting at the back of her cage upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kerry is too sleepy and does not respond. Reaction to cage door opening: Kerry opens her eyes and blinks sleepily. Reaction to touch: Kerry remains in place for all petting, but seems indifferent and shut down. Reaction to being picked up: Kerry becomes tense, but allows handling. Placement Determination: Experience Kerry tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
