Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Keanni was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Keanni was not handled upon intake and she attempted to flee during her initial medical exam. Reaction to Assessor: Keanni was resting in her cage upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Keanni flinches and looks at the assessor through her peripheral, but does not turn her head to face the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Keanni becomes stiff and alert, and focuses on the assessor. Reaction to touch: Keanni stiffly moves away from the assessor’s hand. She attempts to flee when attempting to pet her. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Keanni is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
