KATY – A1059074
Gone 12-2-2015 Brooklyn
***GONE 12/02/15*** PERFECTLY HEALTHY KATY WAS TRAPPED AND DUMPED IN THE ACC AND WILL DIE FOR HER FEAR!! It never ceases to amaze me how people will catch perfectly wonderful cats, whether or not they know if it is a stray, or a neighbor’s pet, and just dump them in the shelter which has a known reputation to be high kill. KATY looks like a beautiful girl and very clean and could most likely be a lost or abandoned pet. Sadly, when trapped, her defense mechanisms were activated and being in a scary, noisy shelter didn’t help. She tried to escape once and was not allowing anyone near her. KATY was punished with the NEW HOPE rating, which sealed her destiny to tonight’s euth list. You see, cats who are scared, never make it to the public eye in the adoption room and are just warehoused til they get sick and are listed. KATY needs a rescue angel – someone to give her a chance to decompress and feel safe. Who knows if she was a pet and is only freaked out in her present situation. But unless a special person gives her that chance, we will never know and at NOON Wednesday, KATY’s existence will be history. HOW ABOUT TAKING A CHANCE ON THIS PRETTY GIRL? SHE MAY TURN OUT TO BE YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND!!

12/01/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Katy was hiding when I approach cage When spoken quietly: Katy continues to hide Reaction to door cage opening: Katy becomes alert Reaction to touch: Katy hisses, strikes and does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick up Katy due fractious behavior. Behavior Determination: NewHope Katy seems to not be thriving in this environment. At the time of the assessment Katy was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
