KATHY – A1046794
8-12-2015 Brooklyn
*** GONE 08/12/15 *** SECOND NIGHT ON THE LIST FOR RINGWORM-POSITIVE KITTEN!! KATHY is a black and white KITTEN who was dumped at the ACC with no information. She is terribly frightened and tried to get away from the people at intake and didn’t allow petting or handling due to her fear. However, the staff didn’t say she was aggressive, just afraid. But the ACC still gave her a New Hope rating. KATHY has every reason to be afraid – she was snatched from her life on the street and carted away by strangers to a scary shelter where nobody there even took time to take her picture. KATHY is rated 5C because she tested positive for ringworm, which is a fungus that is cureable with an anti fungal cream and meds. It is certainly not a reason to KILL the cat. KATHY needs your help tonight to live. Her photo shows us an adorable black and white kitten who is cowering in her cage looking for help—help that YOU can provide when you FOSTER OR ADOPT. THAT HELP MUST COME FROM YOU – CONTACT A RESCUE TONIGHT AND OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT KATHY!!!

08/08/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Kathy was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. She seems to not be thriving in this environment. At the time of the assessment Kathy was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to flee and is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: does not come to front but appears nervous Reaction to door cage opening: becomes very nervous and looks for exists Reaction to touch: attempts to flee, does not allow petting Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick the cat up, fractious behavior Placement Determination: NewHope
