I am a male black domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 3 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 05/29/2015 from NY 10454, owner surrender reason stated was TOO MANY P. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-015811.

05/29/15 12:55 Basic Info: Jumaro is a 3 year old male cat who was bred at home and has never been to the vet but owner stated he has had no prior injuries or medical problems. Social life and Personality: He has not been around any children before so his behaviors are unknown. He lived with 3 other cats (came in with A1037924 Pac Man and A1037925 Veve) and was relaxed, affectionate, and playful. When he played it was gentle to exuberant. He has not been around dogs so his behaviors are unknown. He is litter box trained, kept indoors only, and has a medium level of energy. Behavior: He has not bitten or scratched anyone or any animal before. He was not bothered when owner gave him a bath before or having his fur brushed but has never had his nails clipped before. He is afraid of being picked up and held but will come to you for attention regularly. New Family Info: He is used to clumping or crystal litter inside an uncovered box and scratched on a door or wall but was never given a scratching post to use as an alternative. He was fed dry food. Intake Behavior: During intake Jumaro showed no signs of aggression and allowed to be scanned (negative), collared, pictured, and transferred. When outside the carrier would attempt to flee but once inside carrier would sit at front and when given food would eat. He was very talkative throughout intake.

Reaction to assessor: Jumaro was calm and relaxed upon approach. When softly spoken to, he looks at the assessor and blinks slowly. Reaction to cage door opening: Jumaro remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Jumaro was hesitant of touch at first, but allows stroke on his head and back and starts to relax. He remains in place for petting, leans onto the assessor’s hand, and slowly lifts his butt to stretch. Reaction to being picked up: Jumaro prefers to remain inside his cage. As per previous owner, Jumaro has never been around children so his behaviors around them are unknown. He has lived with 3 other cats and was relaxed, affectionate, and playful. He is afraid of being picked up and held, but will come to you for attention regularly. Behavior Determination: Average Jumaro interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. There is no known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
