JONAS – A1039834

*** GONE 06/24/15 *** IT’S ALWAYS ASTOUNDING WHEN A FINDER CAN PICK UP A STRAY CAT, PUT IT IN A CARRIER AND BRING IT TO THE ACC…..And shortly thereafter the cat doesn’t want anything to do with humanity and the ACC gives the cat a NEW HOPE rating…..Cats need time to trust but the ACC is not concerned about that because quite franky, they don’t care….JONAS is terrific one year old tabby who is clearly able to trust people with time and patience….PLEASE GIVE HIM THAT CHANCE AGAIN….CONTACT A NEW HOPE RESCUE AND OFFER TO FOSTER….IT WILL SAVE HIS LIFE!!

06/21/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Jonas was hiding underneath his blanket upon approach. When softly spoken to, he ignores the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Jonas remains motionless. Reaction to touch: When the assessor lifts the blanket from Jonas, he becomes stiff and alert. He remains crouched over and tries to avoid touch, but allows it and becomes immobile. Her ears bend sideways and he tries to look for an exit, but displayed no further reaction. Note: Jonas was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The finder was able to pet and pick him up in order to bring him to the care center, but he was extremely fearful upon arrival and hasn’t been able to warm up to the shelter environment. Behavior Determination: NH ONLY Jonas is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
