04/11/15 15:28 NAME Jinx REASON FOR SURRENDER Owner is moving to a “no pets” apartment and new roommate also has allergies. RELATIONSHIP Jinx was found as a stray about 9 months ago. He is believed to be about 10 months old. He scanned negative for a microchip. PEOPLE He lived in a home with 2 adults. He has not been around children, so his behavior around them is unknown. He has scratched someone within the last 10 days. Owner believes he was just playing and that the scratch accidentally occurred. OTHER ANIMALS He has lived with a German Shepherd and he was usually very relaxed around him. He did interact with 2 other cats once and he was very respectful and tolerant. He has not bitten or scratched any other animals. PERSONALITY/HABITS He is a very active indoor only cat who has been described as very playful, friendly, quiet, but talkative when hungry, confident, and independent. He enjoys chasing and playing with balls, catnip toys, and laser pointers. He is afraid during baths, but owner states that he does enjoy water. He doesn’t like having his nails trimmed and he usually tries to scratch. He isn’t bothered when you brush him. He sometimes enjoys being held. He usually struggles to get away when you try to place him in a carrier. He is either playful or isn’t bothered when you disturb him while he is sleeping. He is usually relaxed during car rides, but sometimes he does meow. He likes to follow his owner around when his owner is home. He eats Purina Cat Chow dry food and is also given baby food. His favorite treats are temptations. He uses a covered litter box with clumping litter. He usually sleeps on his owner’s bed. He scratches on a vertical scratching made of rough rope. TRAINING He is litter box trained and he usually doesn’t have accidents. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE During the intake, he was mostly relaxed. He he had a soft body and minimally dilated pupils, and he allowed me to scan him and take his picture. He became agitated when I placed his collar on him and he began to growl. He otherwise showed no signs of aggression.

Please take note: Jinx’s former owner stated he has lived with a German Shepherd and was usually very relaxed around him. He did interact with 2 other cats once and he was very respectful and tolerant. He is a very active indoor only cat who has been described as very playful, friendly, quiet, but talkative when hungry, confident, and independent. Reaction to door opening: Jinx seeks affection, leans forward with tail up and remains at the front of the cage, soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Jinx head-butts the assessor’s hand and accepts the touch with eyes soft and loose body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He allows the pickup and remains calm. Placement determination: Average Jinx interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
