08/20/15 15:03 Basic Information: Jerry is a 4 year old altered domestic shorthair. He was a gift for the family members 4 years ago. Owner surrenders Jerry due to living arrangements. Social Life and Personality: Jerry lived with 2 adults and children 7, 10, and 13 years old. Owner stated Jerry is relaxed, respectful and tolerant towards everyone in the household. Jerry behavior is unknown towards cats. Jerry lived with a Cocker Spaniel and owner stated Jerry is respectful and tolerant towards the dog. He is indoors only and activity level is low. Owner stated Jerry sleeps all day long. Owner describes Jerry as mellow, friendly, quiet and independent. Behavior Issues: Jerry has never bitten or scratched anyone to owner’s knowledge. Owner stated Jerry has a habit of clawing on furniture such as sofa’s chairs and diner room table. He was never given a bath but had nailed trimmed at the vet. He only lets people of the household pick him up and hold him. For a New Family to Know: Jerry is litter box trained and uses a hooded litter box. Owner stated Jerry doesn’t like to play with toys. He follows owner around the house especially when he is hungry. Jerry eats wet and dry food called Fancy feast twice a day. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Jerry was nervous and tense. Owner helped with photo and was hard to get collar on him. He scanned negative for a microchip and allowed limited handling.

Owner Profile: Jerry was bought into the care center by his previous owner due to moving. Jerry lived with two adults and children. The previous owner stated Jerry is relaxed, respectful and tolerant towards everyone in the household. Jerry behavior is unknown towards other cats. Jerry lived with a medium sized dog and the previous owner stated Jerry was respectful and tolerant towards the dog. He is indoors only and activity level is low. Jerry is described as mellow, friendly, quiet and independent. Notes: Jerry at the time of the assessment was displaying slightly fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices he relaxed a little and I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick him up. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Reaction to assessor: at the front of the cage, watching the assessor When spoken quietly: remains at the front of the cage Reaction to door cage opening: retreats, appears slightly fearful Reaction to touch: seems indifferent to my presence and touch Reaction to other cats: hisses at other cats but does not seem to redirect Try picking cat up: Jerry is tolerant of this type of handling but tense.
