Notes: Jena was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying slightly apprehensive behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Jena is displaying behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but looks at you, calm, relaxed When spoken quietly: does not come to front but looks at you, calm, relaxed Reaction to door cage opening: retreats, wide eyes, appears nervous Reaction to touch: slowly approaches hand, head butts, meows, begins seeking attention Try picking cat up: soft and relaxed while being held Placement Determination: Average
