Dumped into the kill-happy ACC after her old owner DIED, 13-year-old brown tabby and white senior beauty JAZZY earned RAVE REVIEWS: Jazzy is a 13 year old spayed female cat whose owner passed away and was brought to the shelter by family who could not care for her. Around children Jazzy is relaxed, affectionate and excited to play. Jazzy is relaxed around dogs. Jazzy has a very high activity level. Jazzy’s previous owner’s family describes her as confident, friendly, talkative, affectionate and independent. Jazzy likes playing with balls and string. When at home Jazzy will follow you around and plays gently with you. Jazzy enjoys sleeping around the house and laying near you. Jazzy’s previous family says: “Jazzy is the most spirted and vocal cat you will ever meet. She loves to jump high and is very in touch with her inner kitten. She prefers to be patted gently rather than rubbed and her belly is her insecure area and (she) does not like to be touched there.” Jazzy HEADBUTTED her way to a near-perfect AVERAGE behavior rating from the ACC. 05/24/15 18:15 Basic Information: Jazzy is a 13 year old spayed female cat whose owner passed away and was brought to the shelter by family who could not care for her. Social Life and Personality: Around children Jazzy is relaxed, affectionate and excited to play.Jazzy has never been around any other cats but is relaxed around dogs.Jazzy is litter box trained and uses an uncovered litterbox with clay litter from the brand fresh step.Jazzy has only been kept indoors and has a very high activity level. Jazzy’s previous owner’s family describes her as confident, friendly, talkative,affectionate and independant. Behavior: Jazzy tends to claw the couch but she has not been given a scratching post to scratch on. Jazzy struggles when being given a bath and it is unknown how she reacts to her nails being trimmed. Jazzy enjoys her coat being brushed and isn’t bohered by anyone disturbing her sleep. Whenever someone picks her up she trys to wiggle out of their arms but shows no agression while doing so. Jazzy also struggles when she is being put in a carrier. Jazzy has been defecating outside of the litter box but her previous family thinks it was due to the stress of losing her owner. For a New Family to Know: Jazzy likes playing with balls and string. When at home Jazzy will follow you around and plays gentley with you. She eats dry food from the brand Cat Chow twice a day. Jazzy enjoys sleeping around the house and laying near you. Jazzy’s previous family says: “Jazzy is the most spirted and vocal cat you will ever meet. She loves to jump high and is very in touch with her inner kitten. She prefers to be patted gentely rather than rubbed and her belly is her insecure area and dose not like to be touchd there.” Intake Behavior: Jazzy was very calm during her intake and allowed staff to collar, scan and take pictures of her. Jazzy let the staff pet and pick her up with no signs of aggression.

Reaction to touch: Jazzy head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes antsy and jumps back into her cage. Placement determination: Average Jazzy interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
